Pass Plus is a UK-wide scheme aimed at young drivers who have just passed the standard driving test. It is a recognised way of helping to increase the safety of new drivers, and because of this, many insurers offer a greatly reduced insurance premium.

Pass Plus is a government scheme, designed by the Driving Standards Agency, and aims to increase the confidence of new drivers to drive in a range of conditions they may not have experienced while preparing to sit the standard test. The scheme was introduced as a result of research which showed that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test than at any other time in their driving career.

There are six parts to the course, each lasting one hour. They include: towns; all-weathers; out of town and rural roads; night driving; dual carriageways and motorways.

There is no test at the end of the course, but all the modules in the course must be completed to an achieved or exceeded standard. A certificate is then presented to the learner by the Driving Standards Agency.
