Children's Traffic Club in Scotland: Gym Card Evaluation

The overall aim of this research was to evaluate the Nursery and Playgroup Gym Cards. More specifically the objectives of this research were to:

• Explore distribution of the gym cards to nurseries and playgroups, eg. was training provided, hand delivered or posted, etc.
• Explore how the gym cards are currently used at nurseries and playgroups.
• Explore the gym cards success in helping to convey key road safety messages.
• Explore the gym cards success in raising awareness of the Children's Traffic Club in Scotland.
• Explore the gym cards success in addressing key aspects of Learning from the Curriculum Framework for Children 3-5.
• Explore any unintended benefits resulting from the use of the gym cards.
• Highlight good practice in relation to the use of the gym cards.
• Explore suggestions for improvements/ development of the resources.
• Make recommendations for improvement in relation to distribution of gym cards, access to gym cards, use of gym cards and content of gym cards.
