Researching road safety problems and issues is vital for the work of Road Safety Scotland. We commission a variety of research projects ranging from attitudinal surveys to evaluation studies. Certain projects are funded directly from our budgets.
In addition, the Scottish Government's Transport Directorate allocates a sum for projects carried out on behalf of Road Safety Scotland, while the main research programme is funded by the Scottish Government's Transport Research Planning Group. All completed reports can be found on the Scottish Government's website and by following the appropriate links below.
In this section, the published reports can be downloaded by clicking on the links. Most of these links lead to the Scottish Government website, where the research is published.
A number of new research projects are commissioned every year by Transport Analytical Services and Road Safety Scotland. This section lists the projects to be commissioned in the current financial year as well as areas identified for future research and evaluation.
